How we can help Iran:

In my post yesterday I made a foolish statement -(if you have not read that yet click here, It explains the Iran situation as well the green display photo's on Twitter) - "there is not much we can do", but Scott Westerfeld was quick to point out that this was not the case.

Since the only 'media' outlets that we are receiving information from are mostly coming from Twitter and online blogs the Iranian government is searching for blogs and twitter accounts in the general area.

We can help by simply clogging up their searching efforts by claiming to be from Iran--we can do this two ways--I will explain each step from step so you can easily 'convert' your account to combat censorship in Iran.

This is basically putting a blanket over top of Irianian tweeters/bloggers.

--I was not going to post anymore about Iran as I am in the hospital with my father. However in the past 12 hours I have made 36 Iranian Support twitter images for people. Apparently people are reading my blog--If I can help a small fraction of people get information then I have done my part.

I don't care where you stand on this topic this is about PROTECTING PEOPLE--And hopefully that is something we can all agree on!

Twitter Tips:

1) DO NOT retweet usernames, these people need to stay hidden for as long as possible regardless how many people are following them.

2) Only retweet from reliable sources. This means if someone is reporting and only has 25 or 250 followers chances are that it is not a real account.

3) If you want a green twitter icon but do not know how to create one @DevynBurton and he will help you!
